All Saints Episcopal School in Tyler, Texas wanted an outdoor learning center on its 150-acre campus built around "authentic learning" — letting students study nature hands-on in a stream, under a tree, or among the campus's own rocks and insects rather than in a closed classroom. Head of School Mike Cobb said the original vision was traditional: "we really were thinking... we wanted to build a cabin in the woods."
