Richard and Marsha Oliver were shown all nine showroom models at Grandview — from the compact 216-square-foot Rio Bravo up to three-bedroom, two-bath models like The Lodge and the Ponderosa — before settling on a customized version of the best-selling Lone Star. Working with sales associate Carol, they reworked the 960-square-foot layout substantially: enlarging the master bedroom, bathroom, and closet, shrinking the second bedroom, and converting its bathroom into a half bath for a home office. Marsha said, "We did so many changes. Carol was so accommodating."

Worried that downsizing would mean giving up favorite furniture, the Olivers had their pieces measured and mapped into the new layout — all but two pieces fit. Throughout construction the couple received progress photos of the finishes going in — natural wood and chestnut tones that suited their ranch property in Liberty Hill, Texas — and were especially struck by the porch work once the home was delivered: "What an outstanding craftsmanship they did on the porches! We are so pleased."
